Music for the Headwaters
in support of Andy Russell - I'tai sah kop Wildland Park
Juno-award winner Connie Kaldor, The Cowboy Hall of Fame's Dave Wilkie and Cowboy Celtic, and singer-songwriter Sid Marty who has won awards for his books on western life and nature will headline the benefit concert. Simone Smith, a young signer from the Piikani (Peigan) First Nation will start off the evening and Mike Robinson, president of the Glenbow Museum and Archives will emcee.
Fitting for international film week, intermingled with the music will be film segments from the historic Grizzly Country film made by the late Andy Russell; rancher, author, conservationist and reĀcipient of the Order of Canada. It will be introduced by his son John.
All of the performers know the proposed park first hand. Located between Waterton Lakes National Park and the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, the proposed wildland and provincial park is a stunning landscape and one of Alberta's premier supplies of water.
