Museum Lecture, Dr. John Richards - Ancient Aztalan: A Historical Perspective on a Prehistoric Site November 20, 2008

Dr. John Richards, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Professor of Archaeology and Wisconsin archaeologist, will speak on Aztalan, Wisconsin's most significant archaeological site. Aztalan, the “Ancient Citadel” in the Wisconsin wilderness, captured the popular imagination of much of the country in the late 19th Century and continues to generate interest today. This talk will outline the history of Aztalan’s discovery, review current interpretations of the site, and discuss the relationship between the Aztalan site and the recent resurgence of popular interest in “unexplained mysteries of the past”.$5, Free for Members and students w/ID.
