Murder, Logging and Grizzlies October 16, 2010

Descend the breathtaking Craig Britton Trail with docents Ed Lange and Ida Rhodes on this 11-mile hike where you'll pass old logging sites and grizzly haunts, and hear about a possible "murder on the mountain." Lunch will be along the creek near the coast-side entrance to this Preserve before returning up Whittemore Gulch Trail through redwoods, Douglas firs, and huge tanoaks. Wear your fast shoes, five hours or bust! Meet at the main preserve parking lot (Whittemore Gulch entrance) located on Skyline Boulevard next to the now closed Kings Mountain Country Store. The parking lot is 4.5 miles south of Highway 92, or 8.1 miles north of Highway 84.
