Judy Ling Wong CBE is recognised nationally and internationally for her pioneering work on the development of an integrated approach to environmental participation, bringing together different fields and sharing cultural visions.

She is the UK Director of Black Environment Network*, based in Llanberis in North Wales. Black Environment Network pioneered ethnic environmental participation, and formed the concept of multicultural interpretation of the natural and built environment was formed.

In her seminar, Judy will highlights the impact of working within a framework of socio-cultural-environmental projects on the lives of ethnic minorities, giving many examples of good practice. As ethnic minorities are only one of many disadvantaged groups, the issues addressed and the solutions
formulated have been mainstreamed across other social groups.

*BEN works on 3 key fronts - influencing policy, training environmental professionals to see and implement their work in the context of a multicultural society, and empowering ethnic minorities to benefit from involvement as well as make their missing contribution to the care and protection of the environment.
