Central Market Multicultural Holiday Celebration a SF Arts Market Finale Bash
11am-4pm - December 15th - UN Plaza FREE Event with Multicultural Music and Dance
SF Arts Market hosts an incredible afternoon of multicultural sound and movement in UN Plaza Dec. 15th, 2011. The day will commemorate SF Arts Market 2011 season and welcome the holidays with tremendous music and dance performances. To represent the cultural diversity surrounding United Nations Plaza and celebrate all participants and supporters of this year's Market, an afternoon of diverse and powerful music and dance is the plan for the day, come join the fun!
In addition to performance, the day will include lunch from Off the Grid Food trucks and oodles of local vendors selling handmade arts and crafts.
Performance line up and details, December 15th, 2011 - 11am-4pm:
11am-noon: Clangin & Bangin - Two guys armed with an upright piano and a drum kit playing feel good music of blues, boogie-woogie and honky-tonk for all to enjoy, outside! http://www.clangnbang.com/
noon-1pm: Fogo na Roupa (Afro-Brazilian Carnaval Dance and Percussion) - Fogo na Roupa is an award-winning Brazilian Carnaval dance and percussion company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. 1:15-2:30pm: Sang Matiz (Latin band) - Sang Matiz is a band from the Bay Area that plays mostly originals composed by the lead singer. The band fuses elements of Rumba Flamenca, Cumbia, South American rhythms, Latin Pop, Jazz, Reggae, Salsa and touches of blues to create a sound full of creativity, energy and passion. http://www.reverbnation.com/sangmatiz
2:45-3:45pm: Adelante! (Salsa band) - Adelente! is a Mission-based band featuring salsa and other Latin rhythms. The band led by Suzanne Cortez, is one of the Bay Area's few women-led salsa bands. http://www.myspace.com/adelantesf
