Warm up for St. Paddy's Day with the return of this highly interactive romp!
Mulligan’s Wake Comedy Dinner Theatre
March 3rd, 10th and 17th at 6:30
It is the fourth year running and the party will be at 2 locations this Saint Patrick’s day!
Mulligan’s Wake is full of singing, dancing, and tale-telling. The script serves up a zany blend of written dialogue and improvised laughs, while transforming the audience into guests at Rory Mulligan's Wake in the fictional Mulligan’s Pub. While there, join in the festivities or just sit back and enjoy the show.
Mulligan’s Wake is an interactive, partly-improvised environmental comedy in the vein of Tony n' Tina’s Wedding. This improv-infused interactive comedy centers on an Irish wake, an event notorious for being even more raucous and whiskey-fueled than an Irish bris. The characters commemorate the life and times of a fallen comrade as only the Irish can. Through audience participation and contributions makes each performance a one-of-a-kind journey through participatory song, dance, and jokes. While sitting back to enjoy the show or speaking up to influence it, you'll be served three courses,
Starter:
Fresh Green Salad - with a choice of a balsamic or ranch dressing
Entrée:
Traditional Shepherd’s Pie
Irish Roasted Chicken
Chef’s Choice - Assorted seasonal vegetables
Roasted new potatoes
Mother Mulligan’s Baileys Chocolate Mousse Shooter
Cash bar available…and of course Front Street Brewery's famous craft made beers.
Mulligan’s Wake is dinner theatre with a comical Irish accent.
You get to meet all of the characters up close and personal. All the characters will end up being like someone you know. So when you look at them you see parts of family members and friends.
When people go to see a play, they sit back and say, ‘Entertain me.’ With interactive theater it can be more enjoyable because people create their own fun.
Even at an Irish wake, the good times flow like a properly poured Guinness!
Mulligan’s Wake Comedy Dinner Theatre is the opening of Porch Theatre Company 2011 season and its fourth year running!
Set in the fictional Mulligan’s Pub where friends and family (the audience) has come to mourn (sing, dance, drink, celebrate) the passing of old Rory Mulligan at his favorite pub. There is the whimsical priest Father Flannigan residing at the bar eulogizing Rory, of a life well-lived, an over top grieving widow and unexpected guests.
The wake rapidly morphs into a variety show, featuring musical turns from many of the Mulligan’s and their friends, between the dancing, singing, eating and family feuding, Mulligan’s Wake spins along quickly.
This Irish celebration is full of drinking, toasting, dancing and singing -- a hilarious form of entertainment full of twists and turns that will leave you and your friends in stitches. Best party of your life and you can’t be there!

Compared with other Murder Mysteries
It’s the audience member’s job to solve the mystery and the characters are at their disposal that much is standard fare; however, this production combines fully scripted comical and musical performances. Most dinner shows within the genre are improv troupes working from skeleton scripts. That’s a fun setting as well, but really not the production value that we strive to deliver.
Have Mystery Will Travel!
Dinner Theatre is alive in Wilmington again – at a funeral. Suzzan Ralke Smith, Wilmington playwright and hospitality professional successfully merges comedy, interactive theatre, delicious food, an Irish Wake and an experience like none other!
