Beauty Bar New York and Three Olives Vodka present the new Boogaloo Shampoo - the party where downtown's hardest-working DJ (over 300 gigs in 2008), New York Night Train Soul Proprietor Mr. Jonathan Toubin, fills the mod-ish newly-redecorated back room dancefloor to ceiling with bubbly 45rpm soul classics, novelties, and obscurities - spanning late-r&b to early funk but centering on mid-60s burners every Thursday. Boogaloo Shampoo is thrilled to announce Mr. Toubin's guest DJ on February 19 is noneother than the leader of the Contortions and James White and the Blacks, and seminal figure in the No Wave, Post-Punk, and Dance Punk music genres, Mr. James Chance himself! James typically brings along his sax, dances up a storm, and brings vicious party records!
