On Dec 16, Moviehouse presents the holiday classic A Christmas Story with three lovely shorts and an afterparty featuring the visual delights of VJ Clay Franklin and the sonic rhythms of DJ Nate Mars.
Relive all you childhood holiday memories along with Ralphie as he waits for the big day. Yeah we find Santa, a little scary, too. Dress as a character and get $2 off admission.
The night opens with short tales of childhood from three of New York's best independent filmmakers.
In A Little Routine by animation legend George Griffin, a young girl and her father take a surrealistic trip as she gets ready for bed.
In Ice Cream by Bushwick's own Tessa Greenberg, a girl faces her fears when her ice cream palor stops carrying her favorite flavor.
Lastly in Tis The Season by Bob Giovanelli, a little girl and her busy mom find a very un-'orthodox' Santa Claus.
To close the evening, its VJ Clay Franklin splicing together found footage, classic scenes and crazy stuff he made himself while DJ Nate Mars provides all the beats you need to get down.
As always there's free popcorn for everyone and free drinks for the winner of the bunny pajamas trivia contest. All this of just $5.
Moviehouse presents NYC's best short films, a classic feature, and an afterparty with the neighborhood's best VJs and DJs on the first and third Sunday of every month at Galapagos Art Space. The event is sponsored by Brilliant Productions, Indiepix, East Village Radio, Reel Life Video, and Galapagos Art Space.
