This Sunday, Moviehouse presents the James Dean classic Rebel Without A Cause with two spectacular local shorts and an afterparty featuring the visual delights of VJ Clay Franklin and the DJ rhythms of Nate Mars.
Take a trip back to 1955 and watch Dean give one of his seminal performances in Rebel Without A Cause. It's a rare look at Dean in one of the original teen movies.
The night opens with award-winning shorts that also reference the past from two of New York's best filmmakers.
In Marion Ry Russo-Young, pays tribute to Psycho in a very original take on the classic. The film won the Jury Award for Best Experimental Short at SXSW and the Chicago International Film Festival. The director will be on hand to take questions.
Then in Adios Para Siempre by David Guillermo Barba, a photographer of the dead in Mexico City faces a crisis of his own after a particularly grisly shoot.
To close the evening, its VJ Clay Franklin splicing together found footage, classic scenes and crazy stuff he made himself while DJ Nate Mars provides all the beats you need to get down.
As always there's free popcorn for everyone and free drinks for the winner of the tragic teenage trivia contest. All this of just $5.
