http://Tonight, Moviehouse presents Tim Burton's classic Beetlejuice with two wonderful animated shorts and an afterparty featuring the visual delights of VJ Clay Franklin and the DJ rhythms of Nate Mars.
With Hallowe'en on the horizon, it's time to refresh your memories of the Handbook For The Recently Deceased just in case you bite it between now and the big night. So come watch Beetlejuice. Who knows, you might need to say the big guy's name three times if the wrong people move into your apartment after you've left us.
Equally instructive are the two otherworldy animations that open the night.
In Natasha by Signe Baumane, a neglected housewife falls in love with a vacuum cleaner, much to the dismay of her sports-obsessed husband. (It's a good guide for all of you who have a significant other deeply entrenched in the baseball playoffs). The director will be on hand to take questions.
Then in Kiwi by Dony Permedi, a flightless bird figures out a way to get off the ground. (Yes, if you try hard enough anything is possible.)
To close the evening, its VJ Clay Franklin splicing together found footage, classic scenes and crazy stuff he made himself while DJ Nate Mars provides all the beats you need to get down.
As always there's free popcorn for everyone and free drinks for the winner of the Winona Ryder trivia contest.
