Movie Night June 3, 2010

Join us on Thursday, June 3rd at 7pm for a FREE screening of Roy Andersson's latest film, Du, Levande (You, the Living). Inspired by Goethe's The Roman Elegies, this absurdist tragicomedy is comprised of a series of loosely interwoven vignettes that approach the complexity of the human condition in a tone that is at once painfully morose and exuberantly funny. Using minimal camera movement, a drab color palette, and mostly nonprofessional actors speaking directly towards the camera, Anderson "attains a delicate, painterly beauty...[with] the force and coherence of short poems."
