Unconventional Canadian artist featured in Yaletown show
Yaletown Gallery is hosting a retrospective featuring the work of anti-conventional poet and visual artist bill bissett. The show runs from July 1st to 30th and includes several of bissett’s earlier works along with a number of more recent projects, including some that have never been seen in public.
bissett, who currently resides in Toronto, will be in attendance for the opening on July 3rd, and the show runs Tuesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5pm, and Thursdays until 7:30pm. Known for his use of a unique orthography, sound effects, chanting, and barefoot dancing, bisset’s talents also include painting and audio recordings with his work ranging from esoteric to mundane, while incorporating humour, a sense of wonder, and political commentary.
