The January feast features extraordinary fare from 3 model sustainable restaurants: Gather, Five & Revival Bar + Kitchen, as well as an inspiring speaker from the Community Alliance of Family Farmers. Within 3 blocks, participants will meet award winning chefs and owners and savor their local, seasonal food. Network, make new friends, indulge yourself, and learn about Slow Money, Slow Food, local farms, sustainable food sources and more!
At Gather Restaurant participants will enjoy appetizers and a presentation by owners Eric Fenster and Ari Derfel, a founding member of Slow Money. At Revival Bar + Kitchen, they will savor a family-style meal while owner Amy Murray talks about the history of the restaurant and their sustainable practices. At Five Restaurant, located in the Hotel Shattuck Plaza, Chef Banks White will engage in a discussion of shopping at local farmers markets while diners enjoy dessert with coffee or tea.
The full Moveable Feast menu includes: organic, locally sourced seasonal pizzas; rainbow trout with turnip, chard and red mustard or roasted chicken with local mushrooms and sunchokes; butterscotch pudding with peanut brittle and tastes of pecan pie, apple cinnamon cake and whoopie pie; wine or beer and coffee or tea. The cost of the event includes food, taxes, gratuities, presentations and networking.
The featured speaker in February will be Slow Food Bay Area Governor Anna Smith Clark, and in March will be the Executive Director of California Food and Justice Coalition, Y. Amarmando Nieto.
