MT. EERIE is Phil Elverum. Born in Anacortes, Washington in 1978, Phil began creating at high school, discovering that making tapes and loud noise and exploring the creepiness of one's hometown in songs and books and pictures could be an alternative to doing any other "work". After moving to Olympia in 1997 and spending days heading to K Records or Dub Narcotic just like any other day job, Phil has emerged as one of the truest artists or troubadours around today. His existence is one consumed wholly by creation, of travelling to sing and dance in front of people. After four albums as The Microphones, a winter spent in Norway having toured and "died" resulted in the desire to create a different person, band, artist, whatever - one to explore ideas of dark mountains, cold songs, a grandmother's face and so on. And thus the legend of Mt. Eerie was born. Last year saw 'Lost Wisdom' featuring Julie Doiron and Fred Squire released through P.W. Elverum & Sun and this year the epic 'Wind's Poem' record will be released on Tomlab in Europe. Songs of impermanence, dark change, destruction, temporary blossoming, mortality, and an immense river of air tearing through the world make up this 3rd official album by MT. EERIE. A hundred kinds of distortion, oceans of synth, and clouds of bass are the elements these twelve songs are built from, with moments of clarity occasionally revealing soft harmonies reverently attempting to describe a dark mystery. The album holds a large debt to the music and world of David Lynch's Twin Peaks, as well as to some of the more innovative artists on the edges of ambient, colossal Black Metal. This new loud and dramatic dimension of MT. EERIE requires full band measures so for this show Phil will be joined by a full band including two drummers, keyboardist and gong tender.

NO KIDS are multi-instrumentalists Julia Chirka, Justin Kellam, and singer/songwriter Nick Krgovich. Recorded at The Hive Studio in Vancouver debut album 'Come Into My House' achieves an unexpected cohesiveness despite the wide range of musical styles covered in its forty-one minutes. Golden era Hollywood musicals, Jam & Lewis-inspired production techniques, the icy displacement of contemporary r 'n' b, and the breadth of Arthur Russell's, disco, pop, and avant garde compositional work are referenced and married together by novelistic narrative strains, a lush instrumental palette, and a cinematic atmosphere.
