Alleghany St. is a brother sister duo. Stefanie and Joshua Love and Live music. They have dubbed the term "folk/Alternative" to describe their sound style. Joshua and Stefanie grew up in a small town in Northern Virginia. Before pursuing music together as Alleghany St. Joshua and Stefanie each broke ground on their own. Joshua writing music since highschool and perfecting a talent on the guitar, followed his own dream of performing by singing/playing in fashion shows and local talent searches to grow his original soulful voice. Stefanie, singing from before grade school and playing the flute, joined a christian worship team after highschool. Realizing her love for music she grew her unique voice behind a mic in contemporary Chistian music. After time had passed Stefanie and Joshua decided to to try out for a show called X Factor in New Jersey. The two drove hours away to stand in line and and wait to audtion for major label executives with 20,000 other people for the chance of a life time. They both came away emptied handed but, from that experience the realized they need to be together to purse music as a career. The next week they came up with a couple of their favorite songs and played at a breast cancer fundraiser. They decided that they would be called Alleghany St. since it was the road they grew upon. From then on things grew, and now they are ready for whatever comes their way. Never limited to any certain sound or type of music. Each song and note comes from the heart and the "real" factor of life.

Crossover is simply a fan of true hip-hop. After growing up in Staten Island, listening to artists such as Nas, Jay-Z, Fresh Prince, Wu-Tang, and Busta Rhymes, he became disappointed that the art of the emcee had been replaced by mindless, repetetive garbage that the radios fell in love with playing. He would listen to the stations, perplexed that Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, and Wale songs were hardly played. He was fed up with gimmick tracks that disrespected women, promoted murder, and the lies about the money the artist most likely didn't even have. Sure, he could of just taken his degree in civil engineering and sat behind a desk all day listening to the songs he despised all day on the radio, but he didn't. So he picked up a pad and a pen, hopped on Soundclick and downloaded some free beats, and began writing true hip-hop. Stories that would come to life. Wordplay that others only dreamed of acheiving. Real life experiences that others can relate to.
