Originally from Quadra Island, Canada, and now hailing from Vancouver, Mother Mother's indie rock sound is reminiscent of bands such as The Violent Femmes. Mother Mother's signature sound comes primarily from their lush vocal harmonies and quirky lyricism. Mother Mother is guitarist and vocalist Ryan Guldemond's vision, who was originally joined by his sister, Molly, and his friend, Debra-Jean Creelman. The band made the decision to add drummer Kenton Loewen and bassist Jeremy Page early on in their career, and recently added vocalist and keyboardist Jasmin Parkin. They released their debut album, Touch Up, in 2007 to critical acclaim. They followed up with O My Heart in 2008. Mother Mother has played with bands such as The Killers, Metric, and Spoon.
