In India, the Goddess (Devi) is the omnipresent embodiment of power and wisdom. Devi in her myriad forms -- benign, maternal, empowering and fearsome -- expresses the range of human emotion and is perhaps the most widely worshipped deity in all India, standing alongside Shiva and Vishnu in the first rank of the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain pantheons. In addition to selected paintings from the collection, highlights will include rare molded-clay images of the goddess.
