Moscow Festival Ballet: Swan Lake February 15, 2012

The Moscow Festival Ballet brings together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies. Under Radchenko’s direction, leading dancers from across Russia have created an exciting new company staging productions of timeless classics such as Giselle, Don Quixote, and Carmen. In this full-scale production of Swan Lake, the dancers tell a romantic tale of true love and forgiveness taken from Russian folklore and German legend, set to the music of Tchaikovsky. This enchanting story follows a heroic young prince as he labors to free the beautiful swan maiden from an evil sorcerer’s spell. Filled with colorful costumes and backed by a sweeping score, Swan Lake is considered one of the greatest classical ballets of all time.
