Daturday brings a pair of concerts at the Fleisher Art Memorial, a deconsecrated church now serving as a community art school and performance space. (Feldman served as the dean of the New York Studio School from 1969-73.) At 3 pm, the accomplished duo of pianist Amy Williams and cellist Jonathan Golove perform Patterns in a Chromatic Field (1981). The title of this intricate 90-minute work references both musical elements and the designs of Turkish tribal rugs, which Feldman collected, prizing them for their subtle asymmetries.
