More Than You Know August 3, 2011

The Art and Picture Collections present an installation of new collages by artist Josette Urso. She methodically sifts through day-to-day materials and selects those ingredients that carry for her an inherent sense of possibility. The resulting collages speak of extremes: the circular format suggests the minimal and the pared down, as the details within the details speak of maximum obsession and complexity. The fortuitous juxtaposition and rhythm of imagery spark and engage the viewer’s involvement. Mary Birmingham, curator at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, will join Urso for an Artist Dialogue on Saturday May 14 at 2:30 p.m. on the 6th Floor. The exhibition series Art Wall on Third is curated by Arezoo Moseni.
