"The Moonlight Ramble® will follow a new route this year! With the closure of Highway 40/64, the Ramble returns to its historic roots in the streets and neighborhoods of the city! While the exact route is still a secret, Ramblers will be delighted with a ride that mimics some of the throw-back routes and destinations for the Ramble.

The Moonlight Ramble® has been held each year for over 40 years. It is a signature event for the region, garnering worldwide attention and exposure.

Held on the Saturday night nearest the full moon in August, the Moonlight Ramble® typically draws more than 10,000 riders. The ride itself begins just past midnight and follows a short (10 miles) or a longer (20 miles) route through the streets of Saint Louis. In 2004, the route also passed into Saint Louis County for the first time.

Activities before and after the ride, distinctive glow-in-the-dark commemorative T-shirts, plus the chance to be part of a unique spectacle draw recreational cyclists of all ages and skill levels, many of them returning year after year.

The starting and ending location for the ride will be in Downtown St. Louis, along Market St. near Soldiers Memorial Plaza. The staging area will contain the Vendor Village, Pre-Ride Entertainment, Registration, Communications Center, and the VIP Tent. The route itself will be an approximately 18 mile circuit, with a short loop option of about half that distance. A rest area and SAG support will be provided."
