Teachings of Advaita Vedanta and Upanishads on the non-dual aspect of creation, of self and divine, body and spirit.
Join Karl and friends for Devotion, Song and Understanding. Each evening will begin with a brief discussion (Satsang: Truth-sharing) on the nature of the Self, the true nature of the heart, which is intrinsically open. Thus, through understanding can the experience of openness be better revealed. Explorations and meditations with sound and tone will follow the brief discussion, building into call and response chanting, or Kirtan.
COST: $8 (No one turned away for lack of funds)
Karl has been exploring tone and breath since his first yoga classes more than 20 years ago. Karl studies with North Indian Classical master Pandit Mukesh Desai, a disciple of Pandit Jasraj. Karl began working with Pandit Desai in 1996. He also studies sanskrit, VEDANTA, VEDIC CHANTING, DEVOTION and GRACE with Swami Dayananda Saraswati. We will sing some of Swamiji's bhajans. Karl practiced native american ceremonial song and chant for many years, studied jazz vocals in SF, and continues to study East Indian sacred and healing chants and tone with Pandit Mukesh Desai, Silvia Nakkach and others in San Francisco Bay Area.
