TOPIC: “Therapeutic Touch” with Gail McGrath, Recognized Practitioner and Jean Ruttan, Recognized Practitioner

DESCRIPTION: Gail McGrath, President of the BC Therapeutic Touch Network Society will be presenting Therapeutic Touch or TT. This will be part lecture and part experiential for attendees. A brief review of the history of TT will be done from the historical laying on of hands to how TT was developed initially for nurses in the U.S.A. and is now used extensively around the world. Some of the principles behind TT will be outlined followed by a discussion on the effects of TT on our clients and patients i.e. the benefits of what TT does. This will be an interactive discussion as some of the effects of TT you will find surprising. Then it’s the audience’s turn to do some energy sensing exercises to get a feel for what energy feels like first and then try sensing it on someone else. We will do a TT session on someone or several mini-sessions on people if there is time. Information on TT classes will be supplied.
