Russian and French music rule the night when the MSO performs Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Borodin's Steppes of Central Asia, Debussy's Nocturnes, and Chabrier's Espana. The Montgomery Symphony Orchestra began as a community orchestra in 1976 with 30 musicians and a part-time director under the auspices of the City of Montgomery Parks and recreation Department. Through the years, they have grown to become the region's best source for great performances of orchestral works.
