Monsters in the Meadow - Cancelled July 28, 2006

The Vancouver Park Board will again offer free outdoor movies in the park starting the last Friday in July. Monsters in the Meadow will feature two horror films on Friday nights:
* King Kong (IMDB )
on July 29th (rain night - July 30th)
* Godzilla, King of the Monsters (IMDB )
on August 5th (rain night - August 13th)
These horror films are classic pieces and speak to specific periods in movie making during the 20th Century.
Ceperley Meadow, located near the red fire engine and Second Beach in Stanley Park, will be the site of the outdoor cinema which will be projected on a 15' X 20' screen. Show times are scheduled to start at 9 pm sharp following a selection of National Film Board shorts. Participants are asked to bring their own blankets or folding chairs to sit upon and a flashlight to make for an easier exit following the films.

The event promoter says, "We are not producing this event this year due to a lack of sponsorship. If we can find a sponsor we will still stage this popular outdoor 'Monsters in the Meadow' event but it is getting late in the season."
