MONKadelphia came together a decade ago as a rehearsal band for a group of musicians interested in learning all of the compositions written by the uniquely iconoclastic Thelonious Monk. The material, combined with the players' chemistry, led to the unique opportunities for exploring Monk's musical architecture.
