Moncure Strike Support Fundraiser April 1, 2009

This is a fundraiser and auction to benefit approximately 150 workers on strike at Moncure Plywood in Moncure, NC. This employer tried to mandate a 60 hour week, a 200 to 300% increase in healthcare and an end to union seniority agreements. On September 12, 2008 a noose was hung at the entrance to the plant to intimidate workers and supporters. Management left it up for four days. These strikers are on the line to prevent slavery from being re-instituted in the United States. Come support them. For the cost you get a chicken dinner, music and an auction.
