Eye-catching designs unfurl in fluid motion,” writes a Boston Globe reviewer about Lunar Sea. “A good deal of the pleasure of a MOMIX performance is trying to figure out just how the people behind the magic are pulling off all those fantastical visuals.” MOMIX, a company of dancer-illusionists directed by Moses Pendleton, creates beautiful and surrealistic worlds. “In Lunar Sea, [Pendleton] and his band of dance illusionists use black-light effects that make lighter shapes stand out and dark colors disappear,” a Washington Post critic notes. “… Pendleton used props, acrobatic choreography, light, and projections … to astonishing effect, creating a weightless rhapsody full of humor and grace.”
