Molly & Mobarak is a 2003 Australian documentary directed by award winning documentarian Tom Zubrycki screening at Riverside Theatres on Monday, 8 April as a part of the Screen Café 2013 series.

Nominated for Best Documentary at the IF Awards, 2003 Molly & Mobarak is the heart-warming story that follows a handsome young refugee from Afghanistan. He finds work in a small Australian country town and falls in love with a beautiful local girl. A poetic modern day Romeo and Juliet story, this warmly humanistic documentary it’s all true and unfolds before our eyes.

At a time when the hardline policies of the Australian government toward refugees is causing divisions in the community, veteran Aussie documentary maker, Tom Zubrycki has come up with one of his most accessible and emotional efforts.

Screen Café is a series of monthly film screenings at Riverside Theatres which brings film enthusiasts and filmmakers together to watch, learn, discuss and network in a candid, interactive and inclusive atmosphere.
