Mohamed Zakariya: Islamic Calligrapher January 12, 2007

Mohamed Zakariya is noted practitioner, scholar, and teacher of the art of calligraphy. The exhibition consists of eighteen examples of his work in a variety of traditional and experimental scripts, in most cases surrounded by exquisite illumination or marbling. The texts include excerpts from the Koran, sayings of the Prophet, and secular poetry and prose.
