Enchanting Latin-American tales come to life through story-telling and music. A delightful bilingual afternoon for the family.
Modern Muse Theatre Company in a collaboration with Stories on Stage present “Cuéntame un Cuentito / Tell Me a Story” on Saturday, January 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Su Teatro @ the Denver Civic Theatre, 721 Santa Fe Drive, Denver.

This bilingual program, geared to children and families, will feature stories and music that include The Woman Who Outshone the Sun from a poem by Alejandro Cruz Martinez, Baila, Nana, Baila Cuban Folktales Retold by Joe Hayes, Prietita Y La Llorona by Gloria Anzaldúa, Un Tiempo Perfecto Para Soñar / A Perfect Season for Dreaming byBenjamin Alire Sáenz and Flotando en la Cancion de Mamá / Floating on Mama’s Song by Yuyi Morales.
The cast features actor/musicians Gabriella Cavallero, Caroline Eder, GerRee Hinshaw and Manuel Roybal.
Modern Muse Theatre Company performs new and traditional plays and readings, and also specialize in creating work tailored to the concerns and needs of the communities who invite us. Our goal is to collaborate with groups by inviting people to share their stories and then creating entertaining, vital, and thought-provoking original pieces that spur questions, exploration, dialogue, and discoveries around specific topics.
Celebrating their 10th Season, Stories on Stage combines literature with theater to bring short stories to life and
features some of America's best actors.

Este programa bilingüe de cuentos y música está dedicado a niños y familias, incluyendo: La mujer que brillaba aún mas que el sol (La leyenda de Lucía Zenteno) basado en el poema de Alejandro Cruz Martinez; Baila, Nana, Baila re-contado por Joe Hayes; Prietita y La llorona de Gloria Anzaldúa; Un tiempo perfecto para soñar de Benjamin Alire Sáenz; y Flotando en la canción de mamá de Yuyi Morales.
El elenco está formado por los actores y músicos Gabriella Cavallero, Caroline Eder, GerRee Hinshaw y Manuel Roybal, bajo la dirección de Gabriella Cavallero.
La compañía de teatro Modern Muse presenta obras de teatro tradicionales y contemporáneas, incluyendo lecturas de obras nuevas, y la creación de obras representativas de la experiencia y vida cotidiana de las comunidades que visita.
