Celebrate the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth’s 40th Anniversary kick-off at the 10th Annual Mochitsuki New Year’s Celebration. Enjoy a mochitsuki demonstration (pounding sweet rice to make rice cakes) and other New Year’s activities and performances.

-Cherry Blossom Chorus (Children's Choir)
-Koto (floor harp) by Fumiko Coburn
-Shakuhachi (Japanese flute) by Stan Richardson
-Yosakoi Dance by Daffron Elementary Students

Activities include:
-Mochitsuki - pounding Japanese sweet rice
-Kakizome - rst calligraphy of the New Year
-New Year's Games for Children
-Origami
-Cultural Displays - decorations including traditional
-New Year's items, cards, calligraphy, etc.
