Participants include nonprofit practitioners using phones in their organizations in innovative and creative ways, mobile technologists, researchers studying the use of mobile phones, artists and activists.
Participants explore how mobiles are used in advocacy, education, health, and democratic participation.
MobileActive07 is held at MobileFest, the world's foremost mobile art and culture festival. MobileFest is hosting MobileActive07 in Sao Paulo, November 24 and 25, 2007.

Background
There are close to 3 billion cell phones in the world, growing at astounding rates. This is especially true for developing countries where mobiles far exceeds Internet access. Mobiles span socio-economic and cultural boundaries and are revolutionizing the way we organize ourselves and do business. Mobiles are changing the ways people communicate with one another and organize their lives.
What is MobileActive07?
MobileActive07 is highly participatory camp of NGO practitioners, technologists, researchers, and activist who use mobile technology in their work to make the world a better place. Organized as an 'unconference' with interactive sessions and workshops, speed-geeks, and working group sessions, MobileActive07 will take place on November 24 and 25 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. MobileActive07 will host hundreds of people passionate and knowledgeable about how mobiles are used for social impact. MobileActive07 is held at Mobilefest, the international festival of mobile art and creativity.
