====================

Mobile Trends, a co-initiative of Atelier BNP Paribas and Stephane Delbecque, is a 2-hour workshop presenting the latest mobile trends.

Introducing thought leaders from four innovative mobile companies, the workshop (aka. Atelier) will track innovation in mobile payments, social networking, localized based services and philanthropy.

Join us as we examine the new models and new markets available in the rapidly growing mobile ecosystem.

Examine the potential presented by mobile payments, cross-platform social network communications, location-aware social discovery and the mobile implementation of health services.

FrontlineSMS:Medic
Josh Neshbit
Executive Director of FrontlineSMS:Medic

The mission of FrontlineSMS:Medic is to advance rural healthcare networks in the
developing world through the implementation and innovation of sustainable, appropriate
technologies delivered through mobile phones. The centerpiece of our service is FrontlineSMS,
a free, open-source software program that creates a large-scale, two-way SMS (short message
service) text messaging network using only a laptop, a GSM (global system for mobile
communication) modem, and cell phones. Our classic implementation model places a laptop
running FrontlineSMS in a central clinic and distributes cell phones to community health
workers (CHWs) to coordinate care with patients in peripheral villages. Over the next
two years, we plan to expand the functionality of our health networks to allow for
comprehensive electronic medical records, GPS-tagged patient data, and remote diagnostic
capabilities via cell phone.
