MLK CELEBRATION "Realizing his dream through service"
The major opening of the MLK CELEBRATION will be the Interfaith Prayer Service Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1807 Dandridge Ave. 37915.
This very special service will feature leaders from a variety of faith groups to produce a true spirit of interfaith worship.
Martin Luther King hope through his faith was that we would be able to pray together.
Guest speakers including Rabbi Louis Zivic of Heska Amuna Synagogue, the Rev. Kelly Miller Smith, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Rev. Chris Buice of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and Father Xavier Mankel of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Musical selections will underline the interfaith theme. Music by Dorothy Mitchell and Aaron Stone.
The Chair of the service is Rev. Dr. Marcus Blakemore
