Join the New Israel Fund for an evening with two dynamic leaders from Israel.

The recent war has dramatically altered both the political and social landscapes of Israel. Colette Avital will offer a political perspective on the current situation, and Rachel Liel will discuss the implications for Israeli society, and the New Israel Fund’s role in rebuilding the North and ensuring that the needs of all the impacted communities are met.

The Honorable Colette Avital is deputy speaker of the Knesset and a member of the Labor-Meimad party in the 16th Knesset. She also serves as the chairperson for both the Committee for Immigrant Absorption and the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee for the Location and Restitution of Property of Holocaust Victims. Prior to her service in Knesset she held a number of diplomatic positions in Europe and the U.S., including that of consul general in New York.

Rachel Liel has been the director of SHATIL, NIF’s training and consulting arm, since 1998. Before joining SHATIL, she served as deputy director of the Division of Rehabilitation Services of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, where she oversaw a network of 130 public and private organizations that provide services for people with disabilities. Rachel was named one of Israel’s 50 most influential women by Globes newspaper in 2005.

There is no charge for this event, but RSVPs are required. To RSVP, please email ny@nif.org or call 212.613.4400.
