Mistle:KODE - A BARKODE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL December 21, 2012

According to ancient Christmas custom, couples who meet under a mistletoe are obliged to kiss, and if they do, a certain magic is lent to them.

This December, for one special night only and in conjunction with the exclusive KODE 66 line of parties, BARKODE presents this glamour distilled into its finest form, with Mistle:KODE.

What better way to celebrate Christmas then, and to set yourself apart from the many run-of-the-mill mindless "Christmas" parties out there, but with an intoxicating concoction of exclusively developed cocktails served up by award winning mixologists, all against a backdrop of tasteful good tunes spun by music curators A:She and his young elf Sean Alex.

Interested in scoring an exclusive cocktail mixing masterclass held by BARKODE's resident mixologist Caryn?

Submit your best recipes and ideas for a Christmas themed cocktail in the comments section below, listing the name of the drink, the ingredients you have in mind, and the proportions you think they will go best in. The drink has to include Russian Standard Vodka as its base.

Once you have done that, share the post with your family and friends! The top 3 submissions with the most number of garnered Facebook "likes" as of December 21st, 11pm, will win a masterclass session on the fine art of cocktail mixing on the night of Mistle:KODE.

CARYN

Caryn started her foray into the spirits industry by working for a local boutique distributor of premium spirits and liqueurs. After 3 years, she started Barkode in Singapore, an unpretentious bar serving well-crafted cocktails and her interest in bartending sparked when she was forced to go behind the bar due to lack of manpower.
Two months later, she participated in the Diageo World Class (a 6 month long bartending competition) and emerged the 3rd runner-up. In February 2012, she was invited to Mozaic in Bali for a food and cocktail pairing event and conducted some cocktail classes at Savour 2012 in March this year. Caryn was the guest bartender at the M Lounge at the Formula 1 Paddock Club this year and also conducted a food and cocktail pairing with Starhub. Recently, Caryn and Karen were both in Jakarta for the Jakarta Culinary Festival as guest bartenders and conducted over 12 cocktail classes and presentations

SEAN ALEX

A graduate of Pop Studio by Pop Trash, Heart Of Glass DJ Sean Alex possesses immense talent and an uncanny ability to pulsate the dance floor with his stash of track selections that go beyond the conventional single releases. Playing with Heart of Glass for a little over a year now, Sean has recently come of age when he was chosen to be the co-resident of Heart of Glass by its creator Knight Runners. Get ready to hear long-lost tracks spanning across decades that will either bring back memories, or create new ones. And with a style that’s reflective of his unconventional & quirky personality, it’s no wonder that Sean, the boy king of the nerds, is fast becoming the champion voice for all dysfunctional music geeks.

Known to the uninitiated as Ashe Nayaran, A:SHE is the main man behind boutique DJ school Pop Trash and its emerging prospectives.
A veteran in our local club scene,he has spent the past few years grooming up and coming mix maestros while promoting stellar parties
at venues such as Avalon, Barkode, The Butter Factory, The Vault and Tanjong Beach Club under his event-savvy arm, Knight Runners
As the originator and the drama behind the ‘Heart of Glass’ parties
that has been making waves across the island.
While remaining as the man behind the scenes for the last 20 years, a fistfull of motivation from junior DJs around him has compelled
him to finally take the the front line himself and serve you his genre (and gender) bending sets that will leave you drenched in
sweat and inspiration.
