Missing Pet Partnership will be hosting two Missing Animal Response (Pet Detective) Seminars at the Washington Animal Rescue League: a MAR Technician Course and a Lost Pet First Responder Course.
The MAR Technician Course is designed for those who plan to train a dog to find lost pets as a fee-based service. This is a five-day-long, from May 4 to May 8, pet detective certification course that teaches how to conduct lost pet investigations. This will include training in how to use search dogs to find lost pets, forensics, deductive reasoning, and search probability theory. The course fee is $625.
The Lost Pet First Responder Course is an abbreviated course designed for those who want to volunteer to find lost pets in their community. Primarily for rescue group volunteers, shelter workers, and animal lovers who want to learn about lost pet behaviors. This is a non-certification course that runs for 2 full days (May 4 - 5). The course fee is $150.
