Contemporary chamber ensemble IonSound Project will perform the first concert of their season, Mirrors and Minimalism, at Bellefield Auditorium in Oakland on September 20th, 2008 at 8:00 pm. This program will feature the work of Pittsburgh photographer Charles Biddle, and programming inspired by Pittsburgh Symphony composer in residence John Adams. In addition to Adams' China Gates, the group will also perform Philip Glass' Piece in the Shape of a Square, Erik Satie's Pieces in the Shape of a Pear, Arvo Part's Fratres, Steve Reich's Music for Pieces of Wood, and Terry Riley's In C. IonSound will also perform Pittsburgh composer Efrain Amaya's Trio for flute, violin, and piano. Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and can be purchased at the door.
