The Women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Kappa Omega Chapter of Carbondale, announce a Minority Business Expo: “Celebrating the Spirit of Entrepreneurship.”

The event is scheduled for Friday January 23, 2009 at the Carbondale Civic Center from 3:00-8:00PM. Admission fee is $5/person. Proceeds will help benefit the Thelma Gibbs Walker Scholarship Fund and to help sponsor a budding young entrepreneur to Camp CEO.

Following the Expo at the Civic Center, the chapter will host a scholarship dance featuring “Old School” and contemporary music, from approximately 9:00 PM until 1:00 AM. The admission fee is $10/person and will also benefit the scholarship fund named for the late Mrs. Walker, who was also a prominent educator and entrepreneur in the Carbondale community.
