Once again this June Tilford's Rural Life Centre will be hosting a gathering of miniature working steam traction engines from all over the south of England.
This is the fourth year that the Miniature Traction Engine Rally, organised by the West Surrey Model Traction Engine Club, has taken place at the country life museum. The superb specimens of model engineering, varying from three to four and a half inches to the foot scale and representing the working steam engines of a bygone era, travel from far afield to be present at the event.
But this definitely won't be just a static display. The whole idea of the club coming to the Tilford museum of country life is that it provides a good
environment for demonstrating the members' models in action. There should be an almost constant procession throughout the two days of these wonderful steam engines around the ten acre site.
The Miniature Traction Engine Rally takes place at the Rural Life Centre over the weekend of 12/13 June and is open from 10am to 5pm each day. The accredited museum of village life lies mid way between Tilford and Frensham in Reeds Road off the A287 three miles south of Farnham. For further information telephone 01252 795571.
