This free orientation will give you an opportunity to experience “mindfulness,” a chance to meet the instructors and learn more about this life changing class.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center 30 years ago and is being used in over 250 hospital across the US. Research has shown that MBSR can reduce pain, anxiety, depression and enhance energy, self esteem, the ability to relax and cope effectively with stress and long term pain.
Steven Patrick, PH.D., a psychotherapist since 1983, has taught in various government and private agencies and has over 20 years of personal mindfulness practice. Susan Patrick, past director of Stress Reduction Services, has taught stress reduction in colleges, schools, counseling centers and hospitals for the past 12 years.
