Thousands of volunteers are needed to pack and ship one million meals in less than 24 hours to feed earthquake survivors and help curb hunger in Haiti. The Salvation Army distributes one million meals per week in Haiti and will continue to do so over the next six to nine months. In order to meet the demand, meal packaging events are being organized around the United States. Meal packages are made of vitamin-fortified rice, beans, soy, vegetables and can feed up to six people.
