This exhibition presents the first museum retrospective of internationally renowned performance/video/installation artist Michael Smith (a University of Texas at Austin faculty member) and his New York-based collaborator, director/artist Joshua White. Mike's World will present almost 30 years of videos, installations, drawings, artist books, and performance ephemera that detail the delirious schemes of "Mike," a sweet but hapless Everyman created by Smith, who bumbles through middle America in an endless and ineffectual search for a piece of the American Dream.
