Mike Doughty may well be best known as the former frontman of Soul Coughing, but he has come a long way since they broke up in 2000. He released an acclaimed solo album, Golden Delicious, in 2008, and will be touring behind a new CD, Sad Man Happy Man. He makes albums that simmer with verbal wit, and Sad Man Happy Man is no exception with its songs about everything from relationship bust-ups (Doughty was going through one while he was recording it) to his astute observations about the American economy. Doughty's "Question Jar Show" offers fans a unique opportunity to interact with the musician. "We put a jar on the front of the stage, you put questions in it before we play, we answer 'em between songs," says Doughty. "Questions on any topic—obscure, weird, or esoteric questions—accepted happily." Mike will be performing with cellist Andrew "Scrap" Livingston.
