The $285,840 Mike Cohen Trot on Thursday at Yonkers Raceway remembers the track’s late, legendary public relations director. Cohen was a revered figure in New York area sports in the 1970s and 80s. First serving as Manhattan College’s sports information director, and later as a sports consultant to Fordham Univ., Cohen was later PR director for Yonkers Raceway and NBC Sports, and then operated his own public relations firm for years prior to his untimely passing in 1988.
