Project Basho is pleased to invite photography critic and curator Mika Kobayashi to present a lecture on contemporary Japanese photography on Friday, April 3rd, 7-9 p.m.
Kobayashi is currently conducting a research project at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, working with the museum's permanent collection of Japanese photography. She is currently SFMOMA’s Patterson Curatorial Fellow.
Kobayashi has received much acclaim for “Comical & Cynical,” an exhibition of contemporary Japanese photography that she organized to be viewed in an indoor swimming pool in Osaka. International Center for Photography in New York has recently presented Kobayashi’s curatorial project, “Heavy Light: Recent Photography and Video from Japan.”

Mika Kobayashi will present four lectures for two consecutive weeks on Tuesday March 24th, Thursday March 26th, Tuesday March 31st and Thursday April 2nd, all starting at 7 p.m, same price.
Friday, April 3rd lecture is CANCELED.
