Migration of the Common Nighthawk September 1, 2011

The fall migration of the Common Nighthawk through Massachusetts is a spectacular event. The Nighthawk catches insects with its gaping mouth in mid air, often high in the air. During the fall migration they follow flying ants as they feed before their long trip south. We will explore several areas in Worcester in search of this nightjar. Registration is required.
