FRIDAY 8.21 | 10PM | $5 b4 11pm, $10 ALL NITE AFTER
Mighty is proud to present a showcase of the West Coast future sound movement featuring Kraddy, support will come from none other than close friends ANA SIA and Mozaic. Doors are at 10pm. Cover is just $5 before 11pm and $10 all nite after.
Citing creative differences both Kraddy and the Glitch Mob decided it was best to part ways and support each other as friends and in their creative endeavors as musicians. Kraddy’s music implicates cybernetic breaks with asymmetrical dub delays and hip hop grooves with dark ethereal melodies. At times his music is technical and frenetic and calls to mind images of genetically mutated earthworms, poping and locking deep underground to sub atomic frequencies, causing minute shifts in the structure and alignment of the tectonic plates, that over millennia will alter the magnetic core of the planet and thus change its frequency field steering its evolution towards greater harmony and a more peaceful form.
Other times he weaves together webs of moody etheresque clouds akin to the sounds of alternate life forces manipulating hydrogen and carbon molecules into biomechanical nanobots that imperceptibly permeate the neuronets of sleeping subjects from light years away in a methodical attempt to preserve and record the neural, synaptic and chemical makeup of all matter.
Ana Sia’s love of electronic music combined with an innate understanding of the value of dance to the human soul collectively fuse to create unforgettable sets of experience, whether she is slamming spots in her hometown of San Francisco or taking her turn in the forests of music festivals around the country.
Ana’s energetic delivery of brain-fazing beats has earned the Princess Slay-ah an important spot in pioneering the West Coast future sound movement. She will take you on a musical expedition into the deepest reaches of your brain, as she masterfully blends a wide spectrum of rhythms with a beautiful fluidity and a delicate sensibility, giving the dance floor a delightful ride that ends at the corner of bliss and oblivion.
Uniting the best elements of dirty dubstep, grimy glitch, and her personalized blend of “global slut psy-hop,” Ana Sia’s sets confirm crunk status of all who dare enter into her seamless world of sound.
On any given weekend, if Mozaic's not behind the decks (he played over 100 gigs during 2008), you'll likely find him on the dancefloor, which is what makes the 10-year veteran a dancer's DJ. Mozaic has built a reputation on solid mixing and fearless genre-hopping: tech-house, techno, broken beat, 2-step, midtempo and dub all find their way into his arsenal- sometimes within a single set. Recently, you also may have seen/heard Mozaic's collaboration with EPROM, Hookerz & Blow; they've been laying waste to dancefloors up and down the West Coast with their live dj/laptop sets, and had recent remixes rinsed by everyone from Basement Jaxx to Jesse Rose to Annie Mac (on her May 2008 Essential Mix).
