Join Samara, internationally respected and sought-after Master Dancer and Instructor, as she leads a Two-Part Workshop on the elegance of veilwork for danse orientale and the funky fun of folklore in today’s pop music

The mystique and the beauty of the veil has always been an alluring image of Oriental Dance. Artists have captured this image for centuries. Audiences have marveled as the dancer creates a world of exotic fantasy. In Part One, Samara will focus on technique to create beautiful veil work. Emphasis will be on carriage, breath and body lines, traveling steps and a variation of turns to create beautiful images with the veil, with extra attention to arm positions and the veil as an extension of your body movement.

As with the rest of the world, the music of the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean has been influenced by the phenomenon of Pop Culture. How can you interpret this music, though, without understanding its roots. In Part Two, Samara will work with a few different styles of pop music and teach you how to embellish Pop with traditional Folklore. Learn how to listen and distinguish what you are hearing, and how to be specific with the feeling and the choices of steps you use.

Take advantage of this marvelous opportunity to study with Samara — A Tradition of Excellence!
